THUNDERIN' IN THE HILL COUNTRY

Skeet Raggio, his wife Sharon, and their crew put on numerous biker rallies around the state of Texas. They’ve been doing this for some time and have gotten quite good at it.

Skeet contacted and invited me to attend their Thunder In The Hill Country event in Kerrville, Texas. Well, I’ve always had a good time partyin’ in Texas and I wanted to see where the hills were, so I took him up on it.

It was a nice ride from Florida and I actually got to see some hills in Texas. The Kerryille area is beautiful and there’s all kinds of things to do and see besides the rally. Riders were given an opportunity to do just that during the Poker Run held on Saturday.

Of course there were numerous vendors and the chance to pick up on a good deal or two.

Cadillac Bob took care of puttin’ on the field events that included all the favorites like the weenie bite, slow race, plank ride, beer keg roll, and beer keg toss. The bike show was held inside the arena with some respectable entries. Of course you, can’t have a party in Texas without a mechanical bull! John Pardue put on quite a show with his.

There was DJ music all day long, food and plenty of cold beer. Some of the fine, live bands were Southern Cross (a hot group doing the biker circuit), Modoc, and the Joey D Band.

The wet T-shirt contest had a novel approach to it. The right to pour the water on the girls was auctioned off and the money raised from that went to charity, so everyone made out.

A major attraction was the Texas Hill Country Bikini Team. Let me tell ya, these women are something—beautiful and talented. They do a dance routine that really gets your attention. When they weren’t performing, they were posing, dancing and just generally having a good time at the event.

Did I have big fun? You bet your ass I did. Oh, you missed it? All is not lost—here comes the poop on how you can keep informed on upcoming Biker Rallies of Texas events. Call Skeet or Sharon at 936-336-9612; visit  www.bikerralliesoftexas.com or use Rogue’s e-mail at rogue@bikerrogue.com.
